The Arts Alliance of Woodbury’s third Arts Walk of the season is set for 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 15, along Main Street South and Hollow Road. Artists, musicians and others will be on hand, offering demonstrations and works for sale, impromptu musical moments and pop-up performances in an informal, outdoor setting. Walkable venues for this month’s event include Studio Hill Gallery at 507 Main St. South, the yard and gardens of the Glebe House on Hollow Road, the patio and grassy area outside St. Paul’s Church and the lawn in front of the Woodbury Library at 269 Main St. South.
Spoken word performers will entertain visitors on the back patio at Studio Hill. The library’s gallery will also be open, featuring “A Spiritual Journey,” a collection of paintings by Melody Asbury. The artist will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. The First Congregational Church will be open for performances on the Woodbury-Bethlehem Community Music Foundation’s new piano, and the front porch of Manzi Insurance, 251 Main St. South, will provide a “stage” for musical performances that will rotate throughout the evening. An ice cream truck and popcorn stand will be available to visitors. Ample parking can be found at the town offices, at the Senior Community Center and along various side streets, with restrooms available at St. Paul’s Church.
There is no cost to attend the AAW Arts Walk. Subsequent walks are planned for the third Thursday evening of August and September. The all-volunteer, nonprofit Arts Alliance of Woodbury is committed to fostering the arts in Woodbury and surrounding towns.
