National Poetry Month April 2023
We have celebrated life through poetry from our earliest days walking this earth. Poetry has always been a form of story-telling, a key to remembering how we define ourselves as individuals and as members of a community. Poets search for the words that capture the experiences that shape who we are. Since 1996, April has been National Poetry Month in the U.S. This initiative of the Academy of American Poets is intended to promote and celebrate poetry in our lives.
Woodbury Public Library will celebrate National Poetry Month on Saturday, April 29, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. There will be door prizes and fun drop-in poetry-writing activities. Many of the poets will have their books on hand for purchase. All are welcome at any or all of the events and activities. Everyone has a poem, come to the Woodbury Public Library and share yours–or find it!
